We had a house blessing ceremony this past weekend. Our priest mentioned doing it when we first bought the house, and time just got away from us. Well, a blessing is welcome at any time in my mind, so we set a date, invited our friends and family over and made lasagna (the Lord's food). Father Kastl said a few traditional prayers, then sprinkled holy water in all the rooms of our house and a little on Walter too. Why not?
It was warm and cozy. And a great way to say thank you to those who have helped to make our house a home.
(I missed having you Mom and Dad. But when you're in Tulsa next, we'll make a nice Italian meal to say thank you to you too! Mom, your red checked tablecloth helped set the homey feel for the table decor. Love you!)
