Puppy Child O' Mine

We took Walt to the dog park this past weekend. It's a new favorite outing for us. All those doggies running around playing. I love that Walter can run as much and as hard as he likes. He's a big guy with lots of energy.

And, Ry and I get to talk and be outside. It's all pluses at the dog park.

We've been going to the one on Charles Page (take 3rd street west and just keep going until you see the park on your right.). Although, I am excited to see the Hunter Park one when it opens again.

Welcome to the Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Frank Lloyd Wright's only skyscraper. Ryan and I are nerds for architecture and mid-century fabulousness. We considered ourselves quite lucky to have such a stunningly cool place to go for our first anniversary that wouldn't break the bank.

After breaking open a bag of powdered sugar, spilling it everywhere and all over himself, Walter got a bath and then tried to catch a moth outside through the window screen. Overall rating for Walter's evening activities? 10 out of 10 points.

Bouncer the first bouvier dog

Mom sent me the photo below this morning. My brother Bobby (now goes by Rob), me and our very first bouvier puppy. He used to lay in front of the tv, and Rob and I would rest our heads on him, sipping from our sippy cups and watching cartoons. What a good dog.

These dogs tend to be a little rambunctious when they are young, but put a younger dog or a child in their lives, and they get very serious and nurturing. Bouncer was a caretaker from the beginning.

Bouncer is why I always wanted Walter.

Ode to a Beautiful Three Day Weekend

I'm just sitting here with Walter enjoying the magic of attic fans. All the windows are open, and the fan is whisking in fresh air into our home, gently blowing puppy's fur.

The house got out of hand again. Laundry piled high, items from my parents covering the table and filling the garage, and all other manner of things where they shouldn't be. Ryan is in the garage organizing, and I am taking on the inside. Bob Dylan is helping us. Next week we are having a garage sale and hoping to make a little extra cash, but even more to clear out our home. One should only have as much stuff as will fit in their house. Maybe even less than that. :-)

My birthday is this coming Thursday, and I am super excited. Even more motivation to clean up the house.

The party will feature my great grandmother Alice's punch bowl. She gave it to my mom when Mom was about my age saying that it deserved to be used for parties. Mom said the same thing when handing it to me.

Well, back to cleaning. Hope your day is full of such wonderful sensory experiences as mine- breezes, sunshine, kisses and puppy fur.

Baby Walter in the Snow

This video was just after we got Walter at about 13 weeks. He LOVED the snow. Later that day, he ran around the backyard shoving his face into the snow. It was awesome.
