Blizzard 2011 Brings Out the Drinker in the Dalys: Recipes to Satiate

Hello friends. Did you hear that during the Blizzard of 2011 and its aftermath, liquor sales were up? Ryan and I so rarely drink at home by ourselves, but every day we were off last week, we had a cocktail of some sort. Mudslides, White Russians, and Bailey's-spiked cocoa were our go-to's for comfort drinks.

Well, it got me thinking about liquor, so here are some drinks and recipes I think I may have to try soon. Want to join me? Do have another option to suggest?

Pink Drinks by Martha Stewart.

I might like to hear myself order a sidecar in the near future. Be sure to scroll down past the recipe to Esquire's description. Their writing is always so invigorating.

Can I post two from Esquire? Check out the honeybee, "otherwise known as the Bee's Knees, the Honeysuckle, and the Airmail (when it's topped off with champagne, anyway), this simple little charmer is about as pleasant, agreeable, and inoffensive as a drink can get." The only way to know if this drink is, in fact, inoffensive, would be to try it.

Ryan and I love to make a nice big batch of a special drink for parties. Thanks to Matt, author of the blog MattBites, we now have some more batch cocktail options for parties.

  2. Sounds like we need to plan another party! You could bring one of those batch drinks to my place for the potluck on the 20th.
