Romantic Getaway Frank Lloyd Wright Style

Welcome to the Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Frank Lloyd Wright's only skyscraper. Ryan and I are nerds for architecture and mid-century fabulousness. We considered ourselves quite lucky to have such a stunningly cool place to go for our first anniversary that wouldn't break the bank.

Beautiful rooms that reminded me so much of my first apartment out of college. First thing we did was open up the curtains and fill the room with sunlight. Oh, so chic!

The inn portion of the building was renovated by a designer who would create her own look that nodded to Wright's style. Much classier than a straight knock-off.

There is a great tour that takes you to floors and rooms restored to look like there were when the building was first finished. Imagine two floors of windows and clean lines being your hip little apartment. I can.

FOOD: We ate at Murphy's Steakhouse and had the famed (by my fellow college writing center friend Emily) open-faced cheeseburger covered in fries and gravy. Ryan says he would eat that every day. I love him.

We also hit up the Copper Bar in the top of the Price Tower. We got buzzed like together on beer and girly drinks while eating one tasty appetizer after another. So much fun.

We brought champagne and a cake to celebrate ourselves!

I'd be remiss not to mention that Walter had his first stay at a "Pet Resort." It's a nice kennel. We did not splurge on a suite (this exists!), however, he romped into our car smelling fresh and ready to cuddle after his stay.
